The primary objective of this role is to oversee the maintenance and compliance of BC Sands' transport fleet, ensuring all key metrics are met to exceed customer expectations in line with our policies and guidelines. This position also involves providing leadership and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage NHVAS compliance for Heavy Rigid and Truck & Dog Fleet
- Monitor and manage Mass Management / BFM and implement maintenance functions
- Conduct audits on log books, SWMS, maintenance sheets, etc., as required by COR
- Perform safety audits and conduct toolbox talks with drivers
- Manage and monitor maintenance sheets
- Create maintenance schedules for the mechanic
- Develop weekly service plans for the truck fleet
- Assist in recruiting and inducting truck drivers
- Mentor cartage and delivery fleet team leaders
- Facilitate necessary training for fleet management and maintenance
- Address day-to-day maintenance issues for the cartage and delivery fleet
- Handle all accidents and incidents and liaise with insurance companies
Skills and Experience:

Desirable:
- Knowledge of the Transport and Logistics industry
- Experience as a Compliance Officer
- Basic knowledge of truck mechanics and previous allocations and truck driver experience
- HR or HC truck driver licence
- Understanding of road legislation, NHVAS, COR, and fatigue management regulations
