This role sits within a newly established team who want to improve the way their agency engages with users to better serve the Australian community. Working in a small team, you will develop, coordinate, execute and evaluate Events and their return on investments.
Working closely with the Assistant Director and an APS5 Engagement Officer, the role involves maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and consulting and providing advice within the events space.
Key responsibilities:
- Use a project management approach to deliver Events and support high-quality internal and external relationship management.
- Manage and track engagement and corporate outreach activities, including maintaining, coordinating and reporting on a calendar of upcoming activities and the strategic engagement program.
- Support the development of content to reach relevant user groups, and the development of standard operating procedures and workflows to better deliver outcomes and improve the existing processes and procedures for event capability.
- Provide advice on best practice strategic event delivery to business areas in line with the agency’s User Engagement Strategy.
You will be an experienced Events coordinator who is proactive and passionate about the work they do. You will be able to lead at all levels and work across an organisation to bring your colleagues along the Events and Engagement journey. Here are some of the other things we’re looking for:
- You will have at least 5 years’ experience in a strategic engagement, Events and/or communications role. Government event experience would be highly regarded!
- Demonstrated skills and experience in development of communications campaigns, designated materials for event promotion, user or audience research and design thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to produce audience and channel appropriate content to a high standard (web, social media and event listings etc.)
- Excellent organisational abilities to deliver high quality advice and outcomes.
- Baseline security clearance
- Must be an Australian citizen to apply
