Our ideal candidate adds to this culture and our workplace in their own way.The key duties of the position include:The Senior Safety and Wellbeing Advisor is responsible for facilitating a high standard of safety management and compliance with standards. This involves providing timely and effective support for managers and employees through the provision of Safety and Wellbeing advice and policy guidance. This position also seeks to continuously improve the management of wellbeing initiatives, the Department’s WHS Management System and other WHS and Wellbeing related projects. The Senior Safety and Wellbeing Advisor will also display a high level of competency regarding risk management, regulatory engagements, incident investigation, hazard management, audits and stakeholder management.The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant policy and legislation throughout the WHSMS and depends on highly developed communication and relationship building skills as these are necessary to appropriately provide guidance and support to employees and managers.The Senior Safety and Wellbeing Advisor will under limited direction:

• ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures and relevant Commonwealth legislation across WHS and Wellbeing
• proactively contribute to the development, implementation and review of WHSMS framework documentation to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance
• provide sound advice and guidance on best practice WHS and Wellbeing to build manager and employee capability and
• enable sustained and continual improvement across the department
• review and advise on incident investigation and risk management activities, including monitoring and analyzing
• WHS data to identify trends, emerging issues and improvement opportunities and report on performance quarterly
• assist in the management and implementation of employee
• assistance programs and other early intervention programs
• manage and develop wellbeing initiatives to support employee wellbeing with a physical, emotional and/or psychological focus
• develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships and represent Safety, Wellbeing and People support, as well as People Branch in a positive manner.
• provides support to WHS networks (health and safety representatives, First Aid Officers, Workplace Contact Officers) across the department to address issues and concerns.
