The agency works in a collaborative manner with the Commonwealth and all State and Territory governments and other responsible parties to ensure that Australia’s blood supply is safe, secure, adequate, and affordable.
The team responsible for Commercial Blood Products oversees the supply of commercially manufactured blood-related products in Australia, sourced from both domestic and imported plasma. Managing a portfolio of 17 contracts encompassing various products used in the treatment of diverse medical conditions, the team plays a crucial role in ensuring a consistent and efficient supply chain.
New Year, New Opportunity within A Federal Government Agency
THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a skilled Data/Business Analyst at the APS6 level with experience in supply and demand. Ideally an S26 transfer, or non-ongoing contract is available, with prospects of extension. The role is available on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). The primary focus of this role is to analyse trends in the demand for immunoglobulin (Ig) and other plasma products. The analyst will work to align this demand with the available supply from a diverse range of suppliers. This effort is in line with allocation principles, which govern how the organisation manages contracts. The principles aim to achieve a balanced flow of domestic and imported Ig, ensure the security of the supply chain, optimise average prices and overall value for money, and meet contractual obligations for both minimum and maximum volume requirements.
The chosen candidate will contribute to our client’s strategic efforts in maintaining an effective and well-regulated blood product distribution system.
This S26 transfer, or contract is initially for 12 months and subject to review for an additional 12 months.
Major responsibilities associated with this role include:
  • Develop effective forecast models based on trends and demand patterns.
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Provide advice to decision makers on supply decisions which are informed by robust data analysis.
  • Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, suppliers, experts, jurisdictional health providers and representative organisations for industry consumers and patients.
  • Administer and evaluate contracts to ensure that technical and contractual requirements are met.
  • Undertake timely preparation of complex written materials relevant to supply planning and product allocation including preparation of briefs, correspondence, reports and minutes.
  • Work constructively with other team members in the delivery of outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS
Application Requirements:
  • You must hold Australian Citizenship and Baseline Clearance
Selection Criteria:
