Our Aquaculture farmers are imperative to our business, ensuring we have optimal health and quality of our product on a day-to-day basis. You will enjoy working in an outdoor environment in this hands-on role, on one of our production farms in the Griffith/Leeton region, on a full-time basis.Roles and responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and coordinating the operation of a production (growout) to produce Murray Cod while taking into account environmental and market factors
- Adhere and work towards best business practices
- Identifying and controlling toxins and diseases
- Monitoring stock growth rates to determine when to harvest and further assist with live harvest
- Assist with the transportation of Murray Cod to new tanks, ponds, cages and floating net pens
- Maintaining and evaluating records of farming activities, monitoring market activity and planning production accordingly (general Animal husbandry)
- Managing operational budgets associated to the production site.
- May be required to assist with the training and supervision of junior staff
- Strong work ethic with an attention to detail
- Ability to perform manual work (Physically Fit)
- Good observation and communication skills
- Experience within the aquaculture industry
- Driver's license
- ChemCert
- Forklift license
- Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Aquaculture.
