About the job

In joining the Farming Paddlewheel Team you will use your transferable skills to investigate and handle our paddlewheels to ensure they are running well and serviced with minimal downtime. No Aquaculture experience necessary. Learn and develop on the job. Contribute to the bigger picture of sustainability feeding tomorrow!

Ensuring our aerators within our ponds, are performing is key! Paddlewheels improve water circulation, oxygenation and break surface tension within the ponds; this supports a healthy eco system and optimal animal health, to therefore have a premium product!

A day in the life of an Aquaculture Technician - Paddlewheels at our Proserpine site includes: 

  • cleaned, correctly installed, serviced aerators.
  • farm record keeping; and
  • general farm maintenance 

About you

To be successful in this role you must be a self-motivated team player who has a passion for hands on work and a commitment to safety in line with our Zero Harm culture. 

  • You enjoy working by the salt water and not shy of physical work, with the ability to work in hot, humid and wet environments
  • capable and comfortable getting into water (ponds)
  • attention to detail with ability to operate ipads and follow procedures and maintain work orders
  • drivers’ licence (manual preferred) with reliable vehicle to get to site for rostered shifts
  • flexibility to work a roster that covers day, night shift and weekend work - set rosters are in place 2/2/3 roster – lifestyle roster!
  • Mechanical aptitude (advantageous)
  • forklift, backhoe, excavator, truck, dozer, grader, roller licences (advantageous)
