About the Role
Our hardworking Parks & Gardens Branch will be responsible for the care, management and operation of public open space, foreshore reserves and recreational areas to enable active and passive recreation and the preservation of natural landscape and environment features.
The Arboreal Services Field Leader will play a key role in the coordination of the delivery of horticultural, landscaping and arboriculture activities and schedules for the designated work area.
Key duties -
- Coordinate arboricultural projects or operational site activities which will include on-the-job supervision of tasks in terms of material, work processes and work performance and the provision of on-the-job training.
- Coordinate and oversee arboricultural services in order to meet operational plans
- Manage worksites including engagement of traffic control, signage arrangement etc.
- Effectively coordinate and lead small high performing work teams and ensuring the provision of quality customer service at all times
About you
As a natural leader, you are accustomed to fostering corporate goals and an environment that promotes participation by all team members. You are confident and competent in leading medium effective teams and organising people and materials to ensure prioritisation is aligned with desired outcomes. Your ability to solve challenges which arise and implement work processes improvements is pivotal to this position.
An exceptional communicator, you bring a positive and proactive attitude. Essential to your success are your strong software skills in Microsoft Office suite as well as mobile device applications.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) with competencies relevant to the position or relevant demonstrated trade experience as well as a 30215 Qld – General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) – White Card and a current “C” class driver’s licence.
MR truck license is required and climbing qualifications and experience are highly regarded.

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
