We have a great opportunity for an experienced Design Draftsperson to join a highly engaged and supportive team.
About the opportunity
The Design Draftsperson reports to the Design & Drafting Manager. In this highly rewarding role, your focus will be to help create and maintain market leading new product for South Australia’s 2023 Professional Builder of the year in line with standard construction methods and company standards. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the continuing evolution of our award-winning house designs
- Employ critical analysis to improve the quality of design and documentation
- Accurately modelling of new house designs in ArchiCAD
- Produce detailed documentation for our internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with the group architect as required, for the effective and efficient development of products
- Maintain the existing library of CAD modules and master plans.
- Maintaining knowledge of relevant building codes for compliance with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC) of Australia
About you
To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the purpose and core values of Weeks Homes and the NEX Building Group along with:
- Minimum educational qualification in Diploma of Building Design or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ design drafting experience in a similar role with a volume home builder
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated above average competency in modelling and technical drawing using a 3D drawing program ArchiCAD preferred (training in ArchiCAD will be provided)
- Commitment to updating knowledge including legislative changes (inc. NCC and Australian Standards) and requirements that may impact any construction detail.
- Excellent knowledge of steel frame residential construction and building materials and processes.
