About the Role
As the company Architectural Draftsperson, you must have a good understanding of Revit, be able to work collaboratively with a team and have a passion for design. As well as working in a creative design and construct environment, you will have involvement across all project phases, including concept design, planning documentation, construction documentation and construction support.
You will have the ability to work autonomously on complex projects, to prepare highly detailed construction documentation and detailed plans and specifications for construction. This role represents a great opportunity a draftsperson or architect who is passionate for bespoke architectural design.
We are looking for someone to make this position their own with a real opportunity to drive the future of Beaches Group design and build. You will be expected to maintain clear communication in collaboration with the Director to ensure projects are running efficiently and with high quality control.
Responsibilities of this role (but not limited to)
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, using computer aided design (CAD) software
- Produce sketches for design concepts
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive technical specification documentation for construction projects (NATSPEC), ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards (BCA, NCC and AS)
- Prepare and arrange documentation for CDC, DA and CC
- Creation of 3D models and renderings to help visualise design concepts and communicate ideas effectively
- Calculate and confirm dimensions onsite and provide accurate
- Develop construction methodologies and programs, such as timelines, milestones, resource allocation, traffic management, scaffolding plans, crane strategies and concrete sequencing
- Maintain organised documentation, revisions, and updates as necessary throughout the design and construction phases of projects
- Collaboration to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications and requirements into functional and constructible drawings
- Effectively communicate with project stakeholders to develop and refine design concepts, resolve technical issues and problem solve
- Stay up to date and educate others on industry trends, technological advancements and best practices within industry
- Assist the tendering process and work with estimators, ensuring equitable distribution of tasks and tender requirements
- Administering of contracts for both stakeholders and contractors as part of preconstruction planning requirements
- Based in our Warriewood office
What you will need to succeed
To be successful in the role you must be proactive, highly organised and have a keen eye for detail. In addition to this you must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in architecture, drafting, construction management or other related field
- Prior experience is favourable, however highly motivated entry level candidates with fantastic organisational skills will be considered equally
- Proficient in Revit CAD software for drafting and detailing
- Knowledge of Australian building codes, regulations, and standards
- Familiarity with architectural drafting conventions and practices
- High attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Highly professional written, verbal and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Be able to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
- Ability to be highly flexible and grow with the position as it develops
- Keen interest in your own personal growth and learning journey
- High computer literacy and proficiency in all digital applications
- Ability to recognise and know when to prioritise (and pause) tasks to maximise efficiency
