Thomas Paul Constructions, a major developer / residential builder based on the NSW Central Coast is seeking a highly driven, self-motivated, confident individual to join our Team.
The successful candidate will hold the below skills and experience:
Skills and Experience
- Preferably 3 years or more experience as a residential draftsperson or building designer.
- Experience in ArchiCAD software.
- Preparation of drawings and documents, including preliminary drawings, performance specifications, BASIX requirements, Principal’s Projects Requirements, BCA / NCC, Design and Building Practitioners Act and Regulations, Passive fire design requirements, Council conditions and all statutory requirements; including submissions on the NSW Planning Portal.
- An understanding of construction methods.
- Ability to sketch details to visualise and explain construction drawings.
- Ability to interpret planning documents, maps and schemes for compliance.
- Ability to follow instructions as well as use initiative when working autonomously or in a team.
- Team player with strong work ethic.
- Good attention to detail & problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
- Good communication skills in English – oral and written.
Reporting to the Senior Building Designer, your responsibilities will include:
- Creating accurate construction plans which incorporate site plans, floor plans, elevation, sections, electrical and steel construction plan layouts.
- Problem solving by identifying issues arising due to visual, construction or designer restraints.
- Respond to critical needs as identified by workflow team.
- Liaise with your manager to resolve any issues requiring technical or design involvement or clarification.
- Check every job prior to issuing to ensure: Project design standards and covenants are adhered to.
- Ensure systems and data recording are continually updated to reflect the jobs progress within our workflow.
