About the Role
Primo Foods have an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager Retail. This role is responsible for achieving agreed sales targets, managing the customer base within the North Metro S.A area and identifying new opportunities to increase the presence of Primo products within the marketplace.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and manage call cycle to optimise sales within your territory
- Call cycles are routinely followed and managed effectively
- Plan your week effectively and efficiently
- Ensure customer call cards are updated and correct after each sales call
- Ensure that the Metcash promotional programme for Dairy & Deli is followed and adhered to within your territory
- Ensure that in-store promotional and catalogue activities are implemented in stores
- Increasing rate of sale and brand presence within your territory
- Able to identify shelf space and positioning for cutting in new lines onto shelves
- Speed to market and distribution of new lines
- Advise stores of current and upcoming promotions including catalogue features, buy periods etc.
- Advise relevant store buyers of additions/deletions of our products
- Assist when required to help clear short dated stock in stores
- Assist stores with planogram changes when required
- To effectively observe and provide feedback to management on competitor activity, changing in-store sales trends etc.
- Resolve customer complaints ASAP
- Assist when required with any QA collection request
- On-going communication and support to fellow Area Managers
- Maintain and improve relationship with all major Customers
- Maintain and expand existing database within your assigned territory
- Increase the presence of Primo/ Hans in geographical area
- Maintain good relationships with customers (stores) and consumers
- Control costs associated with conducting business in your territory
- Achieve sales budget by month
- Profitable trading term management
About you:
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role within a fast paced FMCG environment
- Proven sales experience and track record of over-achieving sales targets
- Solid knowledge and understanding of commercial accumen, company's compliance, policies & procedures and government regulations
- Tertiary/Degreed qualified but not mandatory
- Financial management with the ability to analyse data in order to cut costs, and increase profitability
- Proficient intermediate user of Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint)
- Strong networking skills with a positive attitude, a 'can do' mindset to achieve outcomes
