About the Role:
As our new Art Director, you will be responsible for the conceptual ideation, execution and art direction of our creative for Kmart across our campaigns. Deliverables include social, display, E-commerce, catalogue and eDM advertising. We create all our trade campaigns in house so you will be familiar with strategic thinking, as well as working with a copywriter and other Art Directors to come up with the overarching concept. You will get to work across the apparel, beauty, living, active and toy categories meaning no 2 days are ever the same!
Key responsibilities are (but not limited to):
Creative ideation and execution of campaigns that work to a brief and uphold the Kmart brand strategy
Collaborate with marketing, PR and merchandise teams to produce all digital and print collateral
Work closely with agency partners, photographers, producers and stylists to ensure creative direction and content requirements are delivered accurately and on brand
Possess strong skills in Figma and Adobe Creative suite (InDesign, XD, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro) as you will be creating, executing and presenting your campaigns in these platforms.

A natural ability to work as a team and collaborate with the people around you
Accountability and ownership of the projects you work across and an understanding of how you play a role in the these
Deep understanding of all social media channels and specific types of content to resonate with channel-specific consumers
Thorough understanding of art direction, e.g. briefing designers, finished artists, web, photographers, stylists & illustrators
Ability to balance creative and conceptual thinking with customer-centric design and experience
Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
A background in retail advertising is desirable
Ability to build strong relationships within key business areas to achieve strategic and operational outcomes
Exceptional organisation skills, ability to self-manage and work across multiple projects
High level of attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
