Ashurst Reach is an integral part of the firm's NewLaw division, Ashurst Advance. Our focus is solving our clients' business problems through optimal efficiency, cost effectiveness and digitally innovative legal service delivery.
The Opportunity:
- This is an opportunity to join our highly regarded IP & Media team
- Ashurst has a reputation for having one of Australia's leading intellectual property practices, providing a complete range of legal services across advisory contentious and non-contentious areas, to high-profile clients in industries as diverse as pharmaceutical and life sciences, digital economy, fintech, consumer goods, food and drink, retail, publishing, energy, mining and oil & gas
- Our IP team acts on Australia's most significant IP disputes and commercial transactions, including those in the patent, copyright, trade mark, designs, trade secrets, advertising and consumer law spheres. Our IP partners are recognised in leading directories for their expertise in IP law
- This is a contract opportunity for a period of 12 months
- This is a full time role (3 days in the office)
- Sydney is preferred, however the team would also consider Melbourne based applicants
- Advising on a range of IP disputes and commercial transactions including patents, copyright, designs, trade secrets, trade marks and advertising
- Providing patent advice, including infringement and validity advice
- Advising on ancillary areas such as regulation and advertising of pharmaceuticals and medical devices
- Drafting and reviewing IP licence and technology transfer agreements and related documents and agreements
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritise
- Ability to be doer and confident being on the tools
- A minimum of 6 years' experience
- The ability to understand and adapt to the needs of the business
- A current practising certificate
