Aso4 - Freedom Of Information Officer - State Gov Opportunity

Randstad is currently recruiting for a Freedom of Information (FOI) Officers to work within a busy State Government Agency located in the CBD. This will require a high level of administrative skills, resilience, and ability to be agile in a changing environment.

• $47 - $50 per hour + Superannuation
• Full Time Hours, 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
• 3 month contract with view of extension

About the role

• Registering and documenting FOI requests, preparing and distributing FOI acknowledgement emails.
• Undertaking procedures to assist with creating, processing and making decisions to ensure all matters are recorded correctly on all databases in accordance with the FOI Act.
• Monitor, assess and vet draft determinations and files prepared by other FOI team members.
• Providing administrative support
• Assisting in developing systems, processes and tools to support FOI handling and awareness.
• Providing administration access where necessary to various agency databases
• Assisting with the release and closure of FOI matters.
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand requests for information, the Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act)

Skills and Experience

• Must have experience with The Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act)
• Proven experience in a similar role, public service experience is highly regarded
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Highly organised, excellent attention to detail and ability to follow processes
• Competent with IT & ability to navigate multiple systems and databases
• Ability to manage competing priorities and be agile in a changing environment
• Experience in stakeholder management, both with internal and external stakeholders
