About theRole:
The Office for Early ChildhoodDevelopment (OECD) will coordinate the response to therecommendations of the Royal Commission for Early ChildhoodEducation and Care (working across all tiers of government) andwork across sectors to plan for and implement preschool for3-year-olds and other recommendations relating to the first 1000days. The Office serves as a steward, leading change and overseeingthe South Australian early childhood development system.
The Principal Policy Officer willlead and manage a critical program of work to deliver complexpolicy and data analysis and expert advice to support thedevelopment of whole of government policy positions in response tothe Royal Commission. This includes forecasting advice togovernment on provision of preschool places, leading data analysisand management of data models spanning relevant inputs, and leadingadvice on funding strategy.
The position will provide expertadvice to support high-level strategic engagement with keygovernment and non-government stakeholders and will engage with keyagencies through working groups and other engagementstructures.
Qualifications:
Desirable an appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or relevant vocational experience and knowledge.
SpecialConditions:
The successful applicant isrequired to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working withchildren check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required tobe renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will berequired to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm,Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass)extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will berequired to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:
ASO8 $119,317 - 123,822 per annum(1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
