Role Details
The Principal Policy and Project Officer is a role withinDisability Services and is accountable to the Manager, DisabilityPolicy and Projects for:
• Providing timely and accurate policy advice to managementand executives to support effective service delivery.
• Planning, initiating, managing and delivering complexprojects to achieve departmental and whole of government disabilityreform objectives in areas such as disability housing.
• Working collaboratively across state government agencies toprogress disability reform opportunities, including where there arejoint areas of interest and accountability with otherdepartments.
Special Conditions
National Police Check required.
Employment-related Screening Check required.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence(equivalent to minimum class C).
Tertiary qualification in public Policy and management, behaviouraland social science, law, or other relevant discipline isdesirable.
About the Business
Disability Services provides valuable support to the SouthAustralian community through supported independent living,Transition to Home, quality and clinical services, and the DHSEquipment Program. As one of the largest providers, we superviseand help with everyday tasks to support people living withdisability to live as independently as possible. Our Transition toHome initiative facilitates the timely discharge of people with adisability from hospital into the community.
We also fund equipment and home modifications for SouthAustralians who are otherwise unfunded for these services throughCommonwealth options. Equipment and home modifications, as well asthe delivery, repair, maintenance and replacement of items, isfunded by the DHS Equipment Program.

Salary Range: $106,512-$115,137 (ASO7)
