An opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Preston, Vic. You will be directly responsible for the maintenance of machinery, equipment and services on site to achieve optimum production, customer service and safe work practice. You will be part of a team who are on a journey to out-perform and meet our customers’ needs through manufacturing excellence and innovation.
Shift: Day Shift: 6:30am - 2.30pm: Monday to Friday
The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for:
- Conducting preventative maintenance according to site requirements
- Trouble-shooting machine and equipment by making an assessment of a particular problem and estimate duration of time to repair.
- Disassembling, assessing, repairing and reassembling machines, equipment and components.
- Responding to machine breakdown and take corrective action promptly.
- Carrying out modifications to machines and equipment under instruction from the Maintenance Manager / Supervisor.
- Maintain breakdown and maintenance data in MEX;
- Execute PM and workorders efficiently
- Machine components and do welding as and when required
The right candidate will be or have
- Experience in printing, lamination and bag making machines, preferable
- Have min 4-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Fitter
- An ability to carry out work safely by following all safe work practices, policies and procedures
- An ability to troubleshoot mechanical faults on equipment
- Comfortable with change and drive for continuous improvement
- Experience in hazardous environments an advantage
- An ability to deal with timelines and goals
- The ability to relate to people across all levels
- Order parts when needed Have MEX or similar experience
- Have machining and welding experience
- Have pneumatics and hydraulics experience – advantage
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Welding certificate
- EWP license preferable
- Working at height (HRW licence) – advantage
- Forklift license – advantage

Hourly rate is competitive and is dependent on skills and experience of the right individual.
