About the role:
Tonkin delivers a range of asset management services to over 25 Local Government councils as part of an ongoing service agreement, providing resources to complement the finance, infrastructure, and operational teams at Council. Together we strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the asset and GIS systems at Council, using Conquest asset software and a range of GIS applications.
We have a need for a technical asset role to support our project leaders deliver on our core service of valuation and asset planning and contribute to a range of other support tasks in the Asset Management team.
About you:
- An understanding of typical council infrastructure assets and the importance to Councils and communities, including roads, footpath, kerbing, stormwater, sewer, water, buildings and structures.
- Understanding of construction practices to inform asset renewal costs and an ability to develop replacement costs for all asset types, with consideration to the metropolitan and regional environments.
- Ability to understand and develop asset registers
- Ability to use spreadsheets at an advanced level to deliver valuations and a range of other analysis for asset planning purposes
- Understanding AASB 13 and AASB 116 for asset accounting and valuation
- On occasions, be prepared to support our field teams undertake field asset inspections in regional areas in accordance with approved methodologies to gather field condition data to help inform remaining asset life
- Provide a generalised technical support to project leaders responsible for delivering valuations and asset plans
- Contribute to ongoing dialogue with our clients as we deliver our services
- Be able to take on an end user role of Conquest asset software to assist in extracting data and reporting for dashboards using PowerBI
- Be a team player and work with our engineers, Conquest system administrators, Spatial consultants to help deliver a valued one stop shop service to our clients
- Be an advocate and work with our team so our clients have the best end user experience in Conquest
Job location:
This role is based at Tonkin's state-of-the-art head office in Adelaide's CBD. Flexible/work-from-home arrangements may also be possible.
