We're looking beyond day-to-day operations and investing in the long-term quality of life of our community through best practice asset management across all areas of council.
As part of our investment in best practice asset management, we are looking to appoint a dedicated asset management Business Partner who will be integral to working with the business on the creation and optimisation of Asset Management Plans.
Our sizeable asset portfolio spans nine large and diverse asset classes including artworks, buildings, plant and equipment, transport, stormwater, water resources, trees, and our regionally significant coastal walking trail.
The primary objective of this position is to further develop Council’s asset management skills and capability across the organisation through close collaboration with leaders, providing guidance and support to our key asset areas building greater capacity in asset planning, maintenance planning and strategic modelling.
Reporting to the Unit Manager Asset Solutions, this is a position where you will be using your relationship building skills and your technical capabilities as you will interact with senior leadership and key asset stakeholders.
Key accountabilities for this position include some of the following.
- Partnering and collaborating with asset owners, subject matter experts and Finance to create, review and update Asset Management Plans.
- Leading and guiding asset owners to address Asset Management Improvement Plans, assisting hands on with teams where relevant.
- Coordinating the end-to-end governance process for Asset Management Plans.
- Working with asset owners and subject matter experts to guide the development of optimised detailed asset maintenance and renewal programs.
- Partner with the business on scenario modelling for asset classes through councils strategic modelling software.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress against the asset management improvement plan and other associated metrics.
- Supporting change management for asset management improvement and maturity across the organisation through relevant asset related projects.
This position requires a candidate that has proven asset management experience and the ability to work across a diverse range of asset classes, developing outstanding working relationships with key individuals across the business.
As a capable user of technology, you may have experience in GIS or other asset management related software and have obtained a degree or qualification in Asset Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. However, prior experience and relationship building skills are going to be key selection criteria for this excellent Adelaide based opportunity.
