We're looking for a dedicated Assets and Safety Officer to support our operations on the vibrant Mid North Coast. Stretching from Macksville on the Mid North NSW Coast to the NSW / QLD border, our organization boasts 3 offices, 5 vehicle depots, and a fleet of 100 vehicles. About the Role
As our organisation continues to grow, we're seeking an Assets and Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in maintaining our assets (fleet & property) and ensuring safety requirements are met. Reporting to the Chief Assets & Safety Officer, you'll be based in our Toormina office, with frequent travel within our southern territory (Macksville to Woolgoolga and West to Dorrigo) required in a work-use vehicle.
This position offers flexible hours, with options for either five days (5 hours per day) or four days (6.25 hours per day). SCHADS Level 4, Paypoint 1.
Responsibilities:
Safety
• Champion a Safety First approach, promoting and encouraging safety consciousness.
• Support driver training and conduct incident investigations/recording as needed to uphold work health and Safety standards.
• Regularly attend safety meetings and proactively monitor potential hazards
Assets
• Conduct regular fleet inspections, addressing defects and issues promptly, including minor vehicle repairs.
• Coordinate with relevant parties to ensure vehicles are maintained within required timeframes and manufacturer specifications.
• Provide assistance at vehicle breakdowns/accidents, coordinating vehicle recovery and liaising with appropriate personnel regarding repairs.
• Participate in vehicle performance reviews and assist in asset replacement plans, from obtaining quotes to arranging modifications and vehicle sales.
• Coordinate property compliance activities, including inspections and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain depot tidiness and replenish essential items in depots and vehicles.
• Undertake minor property maintenance tasks and assist with ad hoc reporting and administrative duties as needed.
Skills and Experience:
• Demonstrated honesty and integrity.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Prior experience in fleet management or automotive industry preferred.
• Experience in community transport or taxi industry advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Hold Cert III in Work Health & Safety or willingness to obtain within the first 12 months, with company support.
• Minimum LR license or willingness to obtain within the first 3 months, with company support.
