About the Team
As a member of the People and Culture Department, the WHS team is tasked with implementing Council’s WHS Management System, strategy and culture, including leading and working on exciting WHS related projects.
About the Role
The role of Work Health and Safety Support Officer is available full time (35 hour per week) on a 12-month temporary contract based in our Civic Centre in Penrith.
This is an exciting opportunity supporting and complementing services offered from the WHS Team. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will support the WHS team in the implementation and management of WHS and IM policies and procedures. Tasks will include incident and/or injury investigations and monitoring of corrective actions; reporting; records management; WHS auditing; and support of project implementation. This is a significant time of change for WHS across Council and your support to the business and WHS team is necessary for success.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated administration experience
- Strong MS Office knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in WHS, RTW or similar
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or working towards such a qualification
- Return to Work Coordinator qualifications, or working towards such a qualification
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
Commencing Salary: from $78,176.00 per annum, plus 11% Superannuation.
