About the role
Reporting to the CFO and supporting the Grants and Procurement Manager, the purpose of this full-time position is to perform key operational finance activities and support the back-end grant administration process including acquittal of milestones and data reporting.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the CFO, the Assistant Accountant duties will include but not limited to:
- Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including processing invoices, and ensuring payments are both accurate and timely
- Prepare monthly bank, balance sheet and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare month end journals and supporting reports
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including ATO and Government reporting
- Support the CFO with the Group’s interim and full year audit process
- Prepare quarterly BAS statement
- Support the Program teams with management of program spend compared to budgets
- Providing ad-hoc support to the broader team
Support the Grants and Procurement Manager to:
- Acquit third party program reporting against contractual milestones
- Record data into the CRM system (Salesforce)
- Assist in rolling out and administration of new grant rounds during peak periods
- Contribute to grant reporting required for the LaunchVic Board, Government and Annual Report
- Support the procurement process, including RFP administration, contract approval process and contract registers
Qualifications and Skills
Mandatory
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
- +2 years experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role
- Experience in Xero and intermediate level knowledge in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of accounting and governance principles, practices, and procedures
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
