About Us
A growing service organisation operating 20 sites around Australia with a workforce of 350+ people. We are the largest provider of marine pilots and helicopter transfers nationally with plans to expand further locally and overseas.
This an office-based role in Albion, working core business hours and close to public transport.
We are seeking a self-driven and motivated Assistant Accountant to help the finance team maintain a strong service to our internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Preparation and reconciliation of accounting journals accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations with supporting documentation and follow up with outstanding items
- Weekly reporting of R&M for GMs across the business including actuals, accruals and PO’s
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Provide support and back up to payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable and procurement functions
- Provide supporting documentation for audits and tax
- Perform other duties as required to support all members of the finance team
Skills and Knowledge:
- Current knowledge of accounting standards, principles and practice.
- Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, reliable
- Be self driven and ability to consistently meet all deadlines
- Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, and adapt to changing circumstances
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years accounting related experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and working towards completion of CA/CPA
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (this is a must and testing will occur)
- Proven finance/accounting experience including well developed skills in analysis and interpretation of financial data.
- Attention to detail with efficient numerical and data entry skills
