Assistant Accountant

The Role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Investment Management & Finance team.  

Working closely with the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of key activities on the transactional side of finance. You will help embed seamless financial processes, deliver on internal reporting requirements, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support the financial audit.

Your role will include:  

• AP, AR & Payroll processing
• Maintaining the fixed asset register including additions, disposals and depreciation calculations 
• Supporting the year-end audit preparing schedules, documentation and addressing queries swiftly and efficiently
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Taxation compliance activities
• Month-end processing support such as preparation of journals, statements and management reports 
• General accounting support and assistance to the wider finance team 

Your Background

You will bring the following:

• Minimum 2 years financial accounting experience 
• CA/CPA qualified or actively studying towards this
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel as a minimum is essential 
• Experience in managing accounting/ERP systems, in particular Xero & Netsuite is preferred
• Commercial or Big 4 accounting firm background is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in your work
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
