We are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant Officer at our Bibra Lake Head Office. Reporting the Finance Manager, you will assist the Finance team in maintaining financial integrity and support our business objectives. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be pivotal in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate flexibility, time management and multitasking abilities.
This role is available for immediate commencement for the successful applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting tasks such as general ledger entries and recordkeeping.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices, payments and performing reconciliations.
- Capture bank and credit card transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain and organize financial files and documents.
- Handle data entry and ensure proper documentation and filing of financial information.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices and payments.
- Maintain document control and historical records to ensure the correct supporting documentation is available for auditing.
- Assist with month-end closing and Reconciliation.
- Backup for payroll.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Requirements for the role:
- At least 3-5 years in a similar role.
- Experience in accounting software such as SAP or Pronto, Viewpoint is preferable.
- Work independently and be able to take initiative.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage task requests efficiently.
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Payroll experience.
- High level of efficiency and strong organizational and time management skills.
