About the role
We are seeking an energetic and pragmatic Assistant Accountant with an eye for detail to support our Financial Accountant. You will contribute towards all aspects of finance operations including compliance reporting, month-end processes and transactional processing of accounts payable and receivable.
What does my day look like?
- Own the accounts receivable processes by managing claims, invoicing, revising debtors and ledgers, receipt remittance and sending customer statements
- Performing accounts payable activities including entering invoices, payment reporting and ensuring the supplier statements reconcile each month
- Overseeing financials of our Carman’s Kitchen Store including end of month processes such as merchandise/stocktakes; balance sheet reconciliation; POS processing into SAP; cash management and support on costing products
- Accurately and efficiently undertaking financial accounting tasks, including maintaining the general ledger
- Month-end financial processes and reporting including accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting our Fruitstraps business including balance sheet reconciliation, managing master data for suppliers and maintenance of site assets
- Regular reporting including balance sheets and marketing spend
- Set up budget schedules and collate historic data to inform budget assumptions
- Manage the contracts database
- Assist the Financial Accountant with collating and analysing data for annual audits and statutory accounting processes
What are we looking for?
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field (desirable)
- Familiarity with financial reporting processes and the ability to assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- 3+ years work experience in a similar role
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and pro-actively in a close team environment.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Strong Excel skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage several priorities at one time
- A can do, positive approach
