Positive Legacy: We believe that we have a duty to leave a positive legacy in every interaction with our teams, our clients, all stakeholders and on the projects we represent for the wider community Role & Responsibilities We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant or someone who wants to transition out of public practice accountancy, ideally at an Intermediate or Senior Accountant level. You’ll be joining a close-knit and down-to-earth Finance & Accounting team. You’ll be reporting directly to the Business Leader of Finance & Governance and will be responsible for overseeing multiple entities. We are looking for a loyal, hard-working individual whose personality will slot into the dynamics of our Finance Team and who ideally can hit the ground running. An immediate start is desirable.
Cashflow – maintain cashflow and daily reporting
Payroll – calculation of leave accruals, preparing and reviewing payroll, Superannuation payments, payroll tax, WorkCover, calculations for terminations etc.
Creditors – dealing with supplier enquiries, reconciliations, arranging payment
Debtors – review outstanding debtors and reports to management, receipt of funds and reconciliation of debtors
Budgets – preparing budgets, reporting on performance against forecasts and budgets
Banking – managing transactions, set-up of Payroll processing and administering payments to suppliers
Reporting – weekly cashflow and management reports, month end procedures (including P&L, balance sheet and account reconciliations, intercompany loans and registers and stock reconciliations
Quarterly – preparation and lodgement of BAS statements Skills | Experience | Qualifications A tertiary qualification in relevant field 2 + years experience in a similar role OR 3 + years in public practice as an Intermediate or Senior Accountant in Business Services & Tax High attention to detail Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills A positive attitude and a great willingness to learn CPM Life & Benefits Paid professional membership fees including CA/CPA support and mentorship Study and exam leave support Real career opportunities – this role is part of a dedicated progression pathway that will develop as the company continuously grows Professional development planning We even own a craft brewery with a special discounted staff lunch menu and discount card!
