About us:
Personalised Plates Queensland (PPQ) works together with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and is responsible for the marketing and sales of personalised number plates throughout the state. The energetic PPQ Team have a passion for plates and a genuine interest in helping Queenslanders express themselves on the road. Proceeds from the sale of plates support road safety initiatives in Queensland.
You'll be responsible for:
The Assistant Accountant will support the Financial Controller with the daily accounting requirements of the business. They are responsible for ensuring that accounts payable and receivable are managed according to specified deadlines and that all client contractual obligations are adhered to.
Manage accounts payable and receivable:
- Client and intercompany billing
- Suppliers paid when due
- Customer refunds processed within specified timeframes
Partner to wider PPQ Team:
- Assist in training staff on finance processes
- Manage staff expense claims
Internal reporting:
- Assist with preparing P&L / BS
- Assist to submit rolling Forecast & annual budgets
- Client Profitability
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- New product / promotion analysis
- Facilitate dealer commission payment and royalty reporting/payment
Oversee month end closing:
- Preparation of journal entries
- Headcount and utilization reporting
Audit:
- Assist with internal, external, PCI, and client audits
General Office Administration Duties:
- Act in a key administrative and operational support role for all things PPQ.
Qualifications
The person we're looking for:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in an accounting/bookkeeping role
- Must be confident handling and producing complex data sets
- Ideally will have experience working with SAP
- Must work well under pressure with great attention to detail.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of the Accounting Code of Ethics (integrity, objectivity, professional competence and due care, confidentiality and professional behaviour)
- Proficient in MS Office tools with intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
