About the Role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, contributing to the smooth functioning of our financial operations. Your attention to detail, analytical mindset, and understanding of accounting principles will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting essential financial processes. You will support the finance lead in running the Finance Department as efficiently and effectively as possible.
How you will spend your time:
- Conduct routine bookkeeping, including maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Manage Accounts Payable.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable and lead debt collection efforts.
- Assist with payroll processes and employee onboarding.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Develop the Finance Department Playbook.
- Establish an optimal filing system for the Finance Department.
- Manage accounts email correspondence – incoming and outgoing.
- Assist with the system migration to a new ERP system.
- Collaborate in the annual audit process.
- Support the finance lead and consulting staff on various projects within the Finance Department.
What you will need to succeed:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Familiarity with monthly accounting and reporting procedures.
- Experience with accounting software (desirable).
- Exceptional attention to detail in all data input systems.
- Clear communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and deadline-driven.
- Strong problem-solving ability with the capacity to work independently.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
