Assistant Accountant

Bundaberg Sugar is a grower, miller, refiner, and marketer of sugar and related products in Australia. The company is one of Queensland's largest cane growers and owns and operates a sugar mill in Queensland. The company's other value adding operations include Bundaberg Walkers, one of Australia's longest established, heavy engineering and foundry enterprises; and Bundaberg Molasses which supplies molasses and related products to industrial and rural markets.

Bundaberg Sugar is seeking to employ a dynamic individual in the position of Assistant Accountant. The key focus of this role will be to deliver support to the Management Accountant in the Refinery Operations and Sales & Marketing Division whilst also providing administration and accounting support to other areas of the business as required.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Accountant will have completed or studying towards completing a degree in Accounting.

Some responsibilities of the role will include:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management financial reports
• Work with large amounts of data in varying forms
• Perform general ledger journals and account reconciliations
• Ability to assist with financial modelling
• Work collaboratively with the Finance and Accounting Team to achieve success
• Accurate entry of data into database/s
• Assist with raw materials and finished goods stocktakes
• Assist with collating FBT data across the Group
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual who possesses the following attributes and experience;

• Intermediate Excel knowledge is an advantage
• Professional experience preferred but not necessary
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and be proactive
• Ability to multi-task and time management skills
