AddressMorgan Consulting are delighted to be supporting a sporting organisaton to recruit an Assistant Accountant.
The successful candidate will support our client's finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. You'll work closely with a team of experienced finance professionals to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of end-to-end financial operations. Your role will be crucial in helping a well known organisation to meet financial objectives and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and records.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Assist with audits and tax filings.
- Prepare and process payroll.
- Provide support in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Conduct research and provide analysis as needed to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus but not required.
