Digital Metro North is seeking an Assistant Business Manager to provide assistance to the Business Manager by undertaking a range of financial functions including those activities associated with the financial management of statutory requirements, financial analysis, budget reporting, accrual accounting processes and general ledger activities.
Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with clinical leads and end users across Metro North Health to deliver the Digital Metro North Strategy 2018-32. The strategy aims to ultimately deliver an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North by 2032. Over the coming years, significant capital works are being undertaken, including hospital construction and refurbishment and the implementation of the ieMR Advanced solution across all Metro North facilities. Achieving the aims of the strategy requires a dedicated team with the knowledge, determination, and skills to deliver quality results.
Key knowledge and experience
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Assist in the monitoring and advising on variations in expenditure, revenue and activity, which affect budgetary performance and activity targets, along with assisting in finalisation of monthly service line and cost centre reporting and;
- Provide strategic advice on remedial action as appropriate.
- Provide a high level of financial and business advisory support including analysis of budget trends and investigation of variances. Present quality financial, staffing and activity data compared to budgets, targets, benchmarks and key performance indicators.
- Support strategic and operational planning activities
About the role
- The Assistant Business Manager reports to the Business Manager, providing business support across Digital Metro North, including the development and maintenance of the annual budget and providing high level advice to Managers to enable strategic decision making.
- This position has financial delegations in accordance with the HHS “Human Resource and Queensland Health's Financial Delegations Schedule”.
- This role is full time with the standard hours of operation being 8:00am – 4:06pm, Monday to Friday.
- Flexible working arrangements such as variable working hours, working from home and flex accrual may be supported.
