The Assistant Director of Analytics Development is responsible for a wide range of advanced analytics-enabling activities.
The role is expected to work across the Strategic Analytics section to improve processes that support decision-making, by ensuring information products and advisory services are fit for purpose and follow best practices.
This includes supporting the development of new business processes and guidelines through consultation. expand the section's service offering.
The Assistant Director of Analytics Development will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support the uptake of good data and analytics practices. The role will be responsible for coordinating business processes and quality assurance activities that ensure high-quality information products and advisory services.
Key Accountabilities
- Represent and advocate the Strategic Analytics section in a range of project, committee, and stakeholder forums to educate the agency and support ongoing analytics engagements
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, procedures and controls that support Analytics Strategy, ensuring high-quality deliverables and stakeholder trust
- Developing strategies and implementation plans to achieve outcomes that optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the services that the Strategic Analytics section delivers• Develop and contribute to artefacts that support analytics activities, data procurement initiatives and business process uplifts for BAU activities within the Strategic Analytics section
- Lead the coordination and delivery of analytics governance initiatives, including the development and management of project proposals, plans, schedules and reports
- Identifying and documenting business requirements to develop and implement solutions consistent with whole of government data and analytics strategies

- Tertiary qualifications in information technology, communications and business/commerce are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated equivalent experience working on the whole of agency data strategy, executive reporting and/or data analytics improvement activities are applicable to the role.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating, influencing and managing data/reporting activities
- Experience implementing and delivering activities to support change programs
- Experience working in environments with senior stakeholders and competing priorities
- Understanding of data analytics, data visualisation and data storytelling best practices
- Understanding of data sharing, data privacy and data governance practices
