The duties of an EL1 Governance Manager occupation in ASA include the following:
- Accountable for leading a team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
- Accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
- Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees.
- Plan, lead and manage the development, implementation and maintenance of business governance related activities for ASA.
- Manage a variety of business, governance and reporting requirements.
- Implement ongoing improvements to ASA's governance frameworks consistent with policy and reform initiatives.

An EL1 Governance Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice. They will have in-depth knowledge of the governance function and are responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work within that function. They will engage in complex to very complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for ASA.
The Corporate Governance team supports the ASA's senior leadership group to ensure that strategy, capability and resources are aligned with ASA's intended results and outcomes. This includes ensuring the ASA is compliant with legislative requirements and managing the ASA's senior decision-making forums. Key activities include delivery of secretariat services to the ASA Senior Committees; the ASA Corporate Plan; the ASA Annual Report; performance information for Portfolio Budget Statements; the ASA Public Interest Disclosure function; Privacy Act. We are seeking an experienced EL1 with the ability to lead staff across a variety of functions and who is comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
