About the Department
Our client an agency of the Australian Government is responsible for national security, law enforcement, emergency management, border control, immigration, refugees, citizenship, transport security and multicultural affairs.
About the Role
The role has responsibility for identifying and connecting stakeholders across the Department to coordinate stakeholder meetings, as well as facilitating the Department's response to requests for information arising from the External Scrutiny agency investigations. ensuring collaboration, cooperation and work outputs are achieved.
The role involves managing a team of case officers responsible for facilitating departmental responses to the agency's investigations
Duties
- Support the Director of the External Scrutiny Section.
- Relationship manager for either of the External Scrutiny bodies managed by the section including being the Departmental contact point for these agencies.
- Management and coordination of departmental responses to the above-named external agencies.
- Oversee and supervise the activities and case officers to ensure all tasks and projects are of high quality and set time-frames are achieved.

- Strong leadership and staff management skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate well-developed research and analytical skills, sound judgement and a high degree of initiative.
What's on offer
The successful candidate will be offered a non-ongoing opportunity or an S26 at the EL1 level. This position is based in Canberra.
