The Library is seeking to fill an ongoing Assistant Director, Environmental Sustainability EL1 role in the Facilities and Security Section of the Property and Sustainability Branch.
As the Assistant DirectorEnvironmental Sustainability you will be required to undertake work that is complex in nature and be able to work under general direction, and will be responsible for:
- Coordination of the Library response and reporting obligations under the Commonwealth Climate Disclosure policy, working with colleagues across all Library branches to provide assurance to the Library Accountable Authority.
- Oversight and management of the delivery of the Library’s emissions reduction plan and Environmental Action Plan to meet the Australian Government’s Commonwealth Climate Disclosure Policy and APS Net Zero by 2030 targets, and associated guidance.
- Management, monitoring and reporting on Environmental Sustainability at Library owned Parkes and Hume facilities through delivery of the emissions reduction plan and Environmental Action Plan.
- Effectively engage with business areas and subject matter experts to ensure Environmental Sustainability and risk management is embedded in business and project plans, service and contract management arrangements, and included in all built infrastructure projects and services.
- Develop, manage and maintain a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships and internal and external networks.
Our ideal candidate will have expertise and credentials in the management and delivery of Environmental Sustainability measures, environmental management systems, or environmental action plans in Australian Government buildings and operations.
They will also have the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and a range of stakeholders
To succeed in this role you must have:
- Qualifications and/or experience in Environmental Sustainability
- Project management experience in managing environmental projects in buildings.
- The ability to gain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
