Details: We are looking for self-motivated, highly organised and capable individuals who are passionate about achieving health outcomes across government and for the community. The Population Health Division has a number of short term vacancies with the Preventive and Population Health Policy team seeking additional policy expertise. Diverse policy areas of focus for these positions currently include: Health Impacts of Climate Change; Organ and Tissue Donation; Gene Technology; and Population Screening.
This is an exciting time for population health, one position will be working on the preparation of a new lung cancer screening program, the first new screening program in 20 years. Another position will be working on the Health Impacts of Climate Change which is evolving to be a health priority for the Directorate. For organ donation, a national review of the organ and tissue legislation is expected to be progressed for the first time in 50 years.
The ideal candidate would have experience in policy development and implementation and be a highly motivated team player who demonstrates high quality stakeholder relations.
The successful applicant can expect to work as part of/and lead a strong and supportive team. With direction from the Senior Director and Director the successful applicant will drive policy development and implementation and work closely and collaboratively with areas across the ACT Health Directorate, Canberra Health Services, the Commonwealth and non-government stakeholders.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for up to six months. These positions will be performed under the ACT Government’s hybrid working arrangements, including home-based work and an office space designed for activity-based working (ABW). A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
