- Provide effective leadership to the Stakeholder Engagement, Education and Policy team to ensure programs of work are developed and delivered in the best interests of the Tasmanian Government.
- Undertake the day to day management of multiple programs of work, especially in relation to Stakeholder Engagement, education, legislation and Policy, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Build and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders including other Government agencies, regulators and industry and advocacy groups.
- Undertake and lead high level communication, consultation, education programs and engagement with stakeholders, other jurisdictions and agencies.
- Work with relevant stakeholders in leading and developing engagement initiatives for target audiences and the Tasmanian public.
- Provide policy advice and support for Consumer, Building and Occupational Services administered legislative projects, ensuring the achievement of key strategic objectives.
- Prepare high level documentation, including external communications, submissions, briefings, correspondence, parliamentary documents and reports, and reports and briefings for the Minister, Secretary, Executive Director and other relevant people.
- Develop high-level policy advice to Government on matters relevant to Consumer, Building and Occupational Services functions and activities, including the review of legislation and advice on relevant State and National issues.
- Advise on emerging legal issues and provide high level policy advice to the Director, Executive Director, Secretary or Minister in relation to legislative issues.
- Represent the Department in national forums relating to areas across the breadth of activities under the responsibility of the Output.
- Assist the Director and Executive Director with other duties as required.
- Tertiary qualifications in law, public administration or similar field.
