About The Role:
The Assistant Director, Workplace Health and Safety will lead the delivery of a whole of Finance health, safety and wellness service and provide high-level strategic advice that is values-based, customer focused and aligned with policy, standards and legislation.
You will have the opportunity to significantly lead, influence and drive Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) strategy and initiatives, and the ability to empower stakeholders to engage with WHS initiatives to facilitate a positive proactive safety culture.
You will foster an outcome focused, high performance safety culture through developing critical business partnerships across Finance and maintaining highly productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ability to work in a constantly changing environment and find innovative ways to ensure health, safety and wellness for a highly mobile workforce is essential.
About You:
The ideal person for this role will be an experienced and passionate Workplace Health and Safety leader with the capability to lead, influence and drive strategy that empowers others and facilitates cultural change.
You will be an inspirational leader who is dedicated to upholding Finance’s values. As an effective communicator, you will be able to influence positively, and this combined with your ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships will ensure your success in the role.

Currently there is one (1) permanent full-time position available for filling. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next eighteen (18) months on a full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
The Department may conduct an Executive Search to supplement the field of applicants.
