About The Role:The Assistant Director Cyber Security is accountable for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of an effective information security strategy for the Department of Finance (Finance). The role ensures that all information assets are protected from internal and external threats, regulatory compliance is maintained, and security incidents are identified, responded to and reported in a timely manner.This is a critical leadership role that requires a deep understanding of information security principles, including risk assessment, threat management, and incident response. The Assistant Director Cyber Security works closely with senior leadership, and engages with DGov and key stakeholders within private industry, to align the information security strategy with Finance’s business objectives. The role also collaborates across Finance to ensure that security requirements are integrated into new projects and initiatives.About You:We are seeking an experienced leader with a deep understanding of information security principles, including risk assessment, threat management, and incident response. You will have substantial experience in leading Cyber Security strategic planning and effectively managing complex information security related projects.The leadership context for this position is Leading Leaders. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding, and developing others by articulating how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
