Finance Division provides a range of financial services to the Queensland Police Service including budget preparation, financial reporting, financial systems, finance systems training, financial reporting, and tax.
The Assistant Finance Officer role is based either in corporate Finance Division or in one of the QPS business areas in line with demand. It provides advice and support to clients regarding a range of financial accounting activities including revenue, expenses, asset stocktakes and FBT returns. The position also provides support to the Budget Management Team as required.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Provide practical, timely and quality advice across a range of finance matters, policies, practices, procedures, and systems with a strong focus on customer service.
- Actively apply a problem-solving approach to contribute to and support the implementation of business improvement initiatives through commitment to the ongoing enhancement of financial management processes, procedures, and systems
- Assist with the coordination of compliance and reporting activities for the business area, including FBT and tax compliance, asset management and stocktake.
- Assist with the review and analysis of monthly expenditure and revenue to identify and investigate variances and facilitate corrective action.
- Coordinate financial and business administration activities for the business area relating to revenue and expense management.
- Develop and maintain positive, constructive relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to the Division.
