An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and hands on Assistant Finance Officer to assist with the financial health of our company and support the executive management team.
To succeed in this roll, you must demonstrate in- depth knowledge of financial policies, procedures and systems. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.
Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for working with our Finance Officer in completing our financial transactions and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
- Prepare balance sheets
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of BAS/IAS & Superannuation returns
- Process invoices
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Update internal systems with financial data
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Reconcile bank statements/Credit Cards/Petty Cash
- Participate in financial audits
- Track bank deposits and payments
- Assist with budget preparation
- Assist with HR/Payroll
- Assist with Business Plans
- Review and implement financial policies
Requirements
- Proven work experience as an Assistant Finance Officer or similar role
- Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
- Experience using Xero software
- Advanced MS Word & Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Sharp time management skills
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Knowledge of General Practice billings desirable
- Prefer a degree in Finance, Accounting
