The Role
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting (Board and management reporting), annual consolidated statutory reporting, cashflow reporting and tax returns.
Key areas of responsibility include.
- Assist with the preparation of accurate consolidated financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow) and reports (Chief Executive’s Report to the Board and Leadership Team Business Report).
- Assist with preparation of the annual consolidated reporting pack to the shareholder entity and provide responses to queries and any necessary adjustments.
- Assist with the preparation of audited financial statement note disclosures and respond to audit queries.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly accounting entries including assisting with monthly income tax calculations and associated tax-effect accounting entries.
- Prepare month-end consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet, and cashflow statements.
- Analyse financial results and provide variance explanations and associated commentary.
- Assist with the preparation of Delta’s monthly Business Activity Statement (GST) and income tax instalment returns, annual income tax return, annual payroll tax return and annual fringe benefits tax return.
We are looking for someone with (Selection Criteria)
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in accounting, finance or other commercial discipline, membership or progressing to membership of a recognised professional accounting body
- Extensive financial accounting and tax experience in a medium to large organisation
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the application of accounting standards, the analysis and interpretation of data and the effective assembly and communication of information for use by senior management and stakeholders
- Substantial experience with Microsoft Office, large economic resource planning (ERP) based systems and related data extraction report writers
- Substantial experience with system-based data flows for both financial and non-financial information and the design of optimum reporting processes.
