Your new role As the Assistant Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis support to the organisation through the preparation of key financial deliverables. This may include:
Prepare, analyse, interpret and disseminate financial performance and management reports and distribute to stakeholders.
Develop, implement and maintain improvement of systems and procedures both within a strategic and operational context and identify business improvement opportunities.
Assist in the budget process by providing analysis, reports and assistance to internal clients through the operation of spreadsheets and database software, and the preparation of specific reports.
Assist with short and long term financial planning and forecasting associated with business planning processes.
Prepare and coordinate financial information required for acquittal of grants and subsidies and submit for audit when required.
Undertake investigation and analysis of errors and variances to budget, verify data integrity and identify appropriate solutions.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will have:
Significant experience in a similar role delivering Financial Analyst advice and services in a medium to large organisation.
Degree qualification in Business or Accountancy field and Local Government experience is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience presenting technical costing and accounting concepts (both verbally and written) based on sound research and practical theory that assist the business in making appropriate financial decisions.
Demonstrated use of research, analytical and investigative skills and experience in interpreting issues to support key business initiatives. Including expert skills in Excel and relevant financial technical systems.
Demonstrated ability to build rapport and strong, professional relationships and work harmoniously in a team work environment, as well as the ability to make prompt reliable decisions within bounds of allocated responsibilities.
