Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg has an exciting opportunity for Assistants in Nursing to join their staff in a casual capacity.
You will work as part of an established proactive team supporting Registered and Enrolled Nurses in the provision of safe, quality patient care. You will gain extensive experience with the opportunity for career progression.

The hospital is equipped with four operating theatres, a day surgery unit and offers a full complement of medical specialist services.
Salary Range: $31.60 - $34.94 (AIN) per hour plus casual loading plus superannuation and access to generous salary packaging of up to $15900 per annum.
What you'll be doing
The Assistant in Nursing assists and supports the clinical teams in providing safe and quality patient-centred care under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse. Exciting opportunity to work in a hospital environment whilst completing your training. Preference given to staff currently studying towards their Bachelor of Nursing.
- Assist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Assistant in Nursing practice, professional expertise and recognised competencies by undertaking the following non-exhaustive methods if required:
- gathering information about patient care needs through observation and notification to the senior clinical staff of identified changes in the health and functional status of patients promptly;
- undertaking observations and assessments;
- following the direction and delegation of the appropriate senior clinical staff member;
- Assisting with the patient's hygiene, appearance and dietary consumption needs; and maintain a safe, sanitary and secure environment for patients.
To be successful in an Assistant in Nursing role, you will have the following:
- Minimum Certificate III qualification in Individual Support or Health Services Assistance or a second year Bachelor of Nursing student with first clinical placement completed
- Digital and computer proficiency, extending to Microsoft 365 applications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals at all levels, patients and relatives
- Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Prior comparable experience as an Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Attendant/Assistant
- Working towards the attainment of a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Enrolled Nurse qualification and in the second or final year of studies
