Lead the development of key aspects of the department's performance and reporting obligations in line with the Commonwealth performance framework
About the Department
Responsible for consolidating the Government's efforts to drive economic growth, productivity and competitiveness by bringing together industry, resources and science.
About the Section
The Planning and Reporting Section is responsible for the development and publication of the Department's annual report and corporate plan, and the management of internal planning and reporting processes including divisional business plans and quarterly performance reporting.
Duties
- Lead the preparation of reports and briefs to ministers, senior management and agency committees
- Build collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the development of timelines to support the delivery of key outputs
- Play a lead role in developing plans to support the section's work plan
- Build capability in a team environment through coaching others, providing performance feedback, conflict resolution and encouraging career development.
- Understand and synthesise information from a range of sources into a coherent narrative.
- Has familiarity with the Australian Government Style Manual and good attention to detail.
- Strategic directions and improvements for processes and outputs and considers wider agency implications when making decisions and giving advice.
- Previous experience with annual reports may be of benefit it is not mandatory.
The successful candidate will be offered an EL1 equivalent hourly rate contract. Notionally, a 4-month contract with a view to extend up to 6-months. This position is based in Civic, ACT.
As this role is with the Federal Government, only Australian citizens will be considered for this vacancy and a Baseline security clearance is preferred, or willingness to obtain.
