Joining our resort, in the role of Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Outlets you will bring your F&B talent and flair to contribute to creating exceptional and personalised experiences for our guests in each of our F&B outlets and in our Conference + Events spaces.
You will also be playing a key part in delivering this vision all whilst developing and enhancing your own career with a global hospitality leader.
Set in the picturesque Blue Mountains with views of the Jameson’s valley, the Multi-Award-winning Fairmont Resort and Spa boasts 224 rooms, 8 Food and Beverage Outlets, a large Conferencing and Events department, 18-hole golf course, multiple family and wellness facilities, a 16 room Day Spa, Blue Mountains Ice-Skating Rink as well as ongoing developments
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, and working closely alongside the F&B leadership team, you will support Food & Beverage operations at the resort by leading from the front in Food and Beverage outlets and C&E Functions
You will ensure all outlets provides the highest standard of service and that all team members are motivated to provide a warm genuine welcome to guests, anticipate their needs and go above and beyond to create memorable moments.
In a role where truly no two days are the same, you will have the opportunity to be involved in:
- Managing operational service F&B outlets ensuring all outlets provide the highest level of guest and customer service in line with outlet character, procedures and standards
- Leading, motivating and coaching team members to develop F&B knowledge and service delivery, escalating any concerns to Assistant F&B Manager and/or Talent & Culture as needed
- Training and developing team members to provide the best F&B service they can and to enhance their hospitality experience and career
- Working with the Assistant F&B Manager to drive F&B outlet performance by contributing to resort vision, managing costs, identifying, and increasing revenue opportunities, and develop and implement continuous improvement
- Contributing to the development of department procedures aligned with Accor and Resort policies, current legislation and regulations and F&B best practice
- Contributing to rostering with consideration to payroll budgets and manning guide
- Work cohesively with other key departments such as Front Office, Conference and Events Operations, Sales teams, and Kitchen to ensure seamless service delivery to all guests
- Enhancing and applying your knowledge and understanding of legal compliance, SOP’s, WHS, modern award framework and national employment standards
About You
- Experience of working in a supervisory/Assistant Manager role in full table service al a carte restaurants or hotels preferably within a 4.5 – 5-star venue
- Friendly, professional and engaging manner with the ability to remain calm, positive, and level-headed during peak service periods dealing with any issues that may come your way
- Experience in leading, coaching and training a team and handling any issues sensitively and confidentially in line with resort procedure and values
- Working knowledge of the latest food and wine trends
- A hands-on operational leader with the ability to lead, coach and motivate a team
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification
- Flexible and available to work shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays over a 7-day roster
- Desire to create an amazing experience for each guest and the ability to motivate and engage team members to achieve this
- Have an eye for detail and venue presentation ensuring impeccable cleanliness and good repair of the outlets addressing and rectifying any discrepancies
- Impeccable grooming and presentation to lead the team by example
