Job description

Provide effective leadership in the planning, management, and delivery of safe, quality consumer/person centred care within the surgery inpatient wards, surgery outpatient services and nominated speciality positions of the Surgery and Critical Care Program.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Provide effective leadership in the planning, management, and delivery of safe, quality consumer/person centred care within the surgery inpatient wards, surgery outpatient services and nominated speciality positions of the Surgery and Critical Care Program.
  • Function as an effective interprofessional team member demonstrating professional and clinical expertise and contemporary knowledge in strategic planning, quality management and professional leadership and development.
  • Collaborate with other Senior Nurse leaders and key stakeholders in leading the development and implementation of strategies to meet the demand for health care services, targets and key performance indicators across TPCH.
  • Exhibit professional accountability to TPCH, for operationalising the efficient and effective management and clinical governance of nursing services within the surgery inpatient wards, surgery outpatient services and nominated speciality positions of the Surgery and Critical Care Program.
  • Plan, lead and coordinate a complex set of interdependent resources required to facilitate the provision of the highest quality services and organisational matters and professional issues.
  • Provide advanced leadership, and collaboratively manage activities across Surgical Services and Critical Care within an interprofessional environment to facilitate best practice and optimal consumer/person outcomes.
