ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be actively involved in project scheduling, task management, tracking, reporting, risk and issue management. This hands-on role requires relevant experience such as that gained in positions like Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager, particularly within construction, fit-outs, manufacturing or other industrial facilities. A typical week will include:
- Monitoring and coordinating suppliers to ensure adherence to fabrication and shipping schedules
- Collaborating with a dynamic team of engineers, assemblers, building trades, assembly team, specialists and administration support to set project priorities
- Organising equipment supply orders, deliveries and contractors
- Securing permits and licences from appropriate authorities
- Coordinating and communicating project tasks to meet deadlines, safety and quality specifications
- Assisting project teams to report on work progress, priorities and budget
- Troubleshooting, resolving and preventing issues
ABOUT YOU
The right candidate will be good at organising and communicating with a fast-paced team. Experience or a solid understanding is required of online project management tools, project scheduling, risk/ issue management and other project controls.
The ideal applicant will have the following:
- 3+ years project coordinator or Assistant Project Manager experience
- A proven track record of supporting project teams in a construction, manufacturing or workshop environment
- Ability to plan, schedule, assign and track project activities
- Understanding of project management methods and controls
- Experience with project tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Primavera P6, Procore or other tools is an advantage but not essential
