The Project Manager’s role is to provide support to the team, and particularly to the Senior Project Manager on health and education projects, and through the various stages of a project’s lifecycle.
Key Relationships:
- Direct report into the Managing Director on all matters
- Direct report to the Senior Project Manager on project matters
- Internal interface with all members of staff
- External interface with clients, architects, engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, contractors, suppliers etc as required.
- Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and other marketing material.
- Take an active role in the identification of new clients and opportunities through attending networking events.
- Create and maintain strong relationships with all existing external consultants, clients and other stakeholders.
- Read, understand, and comply with the Business Systems Folder and its content (policies, procedures, templates).
- Contribute to the development of new required forms, templates and systems
- Read, understand and comply with the Work Health & Safety (WHS) plan.
- Display professional and respectful behaviour at all times and implement the culture, values and vision.

- Generally, it is expected that the hours of work will be from Monday to Friday, 40-hours per week. The nature of the role such as this in a client-side project management consultancy, is that there is an expectation that you will, from time to time, be required to provide additional hours to achieve specific project related deadlines.

- Read and understand the project brief / project return brief.
- Setup the project filing system, in accordance with the approved Business Systems as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
- Development of a Master Programme by providing keys dates etc as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
- Ongoing review and tracking of the project against the project programme.
- Understand the programme details.
- Understand the contractor’s programmes, Notices of Likely Delay (NOLD) and
- Extensions of Time (EOT).
- Develop a PMP as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
- Understand the project Governance.
- Understand the certification of consultant fees as required.
- Attend design meetings as required.
- Prepare, issue and follow up on design meeting minutes.
- Attend User Group meetings.
- Understand the process of and assist with sourcing the approval of works required from authorities, including Building Permit, Planning Permit and other authority permits and applications
- Preparation of Tender Documentation for building works and calling of tenders.
- Attend tender briefings and site walks and minutes if required.
- Preparation and issuing of Tender Addenda as required.
- Tender assessment review process including tender interviews, minutes and reports and recommendations for review by your manager.
- Coordinate and assist with the issuing of the Contract Documentation to contractors for execution as required and within the agreed timeframes
- Familiarise yourself with all relevant Contract types, including AS2124, AS4000
- Coordinate and monitor the Requests for Information (RFI’s) and drive consultants to respond in appropriate time to avoid delays to the project.
- Prepare (Project Mangers Directions) PMD’s as required.
- Assist in the preparation of Payment Certificates and recommendations to the client as required.
- Assist with the review of the contractor’s construction programme and communication to the client.
- Understand the process of reviewing Extension of Time (EOT) claims as required.
- Maintenance of the defects register as required.
- Understand and if required, assist with the preparation of the Certificate of Practical Completion.
- Understand the process of the formal handover of the site to the client as required.
- Coordination of the collection of all As Built documentation from the contractor and issuing to the client.
- Coordination of the project completion documentation as required.
